Ras Dodirie
Bio: International Reggae Artist, Ras Dodirie began his singing career at the impressionable age of fifteen. Influenced by his older brother Kwam, along with two other childhood friends Johnny and Trevor. Together they formed the vocal group "The Classics," entertaining the people of Jamaica with their renditions of hits from The Commodores, The Bee Gees, The Manhattans, The Mighty Tomblins, and the legendary Dennis Brown. The Classics often opened with the incomparable Outcast Band of C-A-S-T University. Ras Dodirie also gained experience from singing on different sound systems of the early 80's such as Stereo One and Leo One, allowing him to enhance his musical abilities. These experiences helped to cultivate Ras Dodirie into an eye catching performer, molding him for his musical challenges throughout the world. Coming to the Unites States from Kingston Jamaica at the age of twenty-two, Ras Dodirie was awarded the opportunity to continue his singing career with Orlando's well known band "One Us," as the lead singer. Opening for world re-known artists such as Burning Spears, Israel Vibrations, Yellow Man, and Steel Pulse. Ras Dodirie's tenacious and zestful voice allotted him the opportunity to begin his solo career, which led him to New York City. Breaking in on the local circuit, performing throughout the NYC area. While promoting his first cd "Our Time," Ras Dodirie gained bookings opening for Morgan Heritage, Sanchez, Freddie McGregor, Luciana and Fab Five just to name a few. Currently in the New York area, composing his second album, Ras Dodirie continues to perform throughout the United States. Ras Dodirie's music and live shows continually entices the listeners, captivating the audiences mind and engulfing their souls with knowledge and chanting sweet sounds of Jah's music.
